Nature of the service

Courts Australia is an independent register that reproduces daily lists published by Australian courts. It is not a court, a government service, or a source of official records. Entries are provided for information and are not legal advice.

No warranty

Entries reproduce lists as published at the time of collection. Courts amend their lists; the register may be incomplete, out of date, or contain transcription errors. No warranty is given as to accuracy, completeness or currency. Where the register and a court's own list differ, the court's list prevails. Do not rely on the register in place of the court's own list or official records.

Permitted use

You may use the register for lawful purposes, including journalism, research, legal practice and personal interest. You must not use it to harass, intimidate, stalk or discriminate against any person, to make employment, tenancy, credit or insurance decisions about a person, or in any way that breaches a court order (including a suppression or non-publication order) or applicable law.

Automated access

Bulk downloading, scraping or republishing the register's contents is not permitted without written agreement. The robots.txt file states the crawl policy for search engines.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the operator accepts no liability for loss or damage arising from use of the register or reliance on any entry.

These terms may be updated; the current version is the one published on this page.
